CANDIED FRUIT COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1 c. powdered sugar
1 unbeaten egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 c. flour
1 c. pecan halves
2 c. red & green candied cherries, halved

Cream butter and powdered sugar thoroughly. Blend in egg and vanilla. Add flour, pecans and candied cherries. Divide dough into 3 portions. Shape into 12" rolls. Wrap in wax paper and chill 3 or 4 hours. Cut dough into 1/8" slices. Bake on ungreased cookie sheets at 325 degrees for 13 minutes. Makes 7 dozen.
