6 TO 8 WEEK COLE SLAW 
3 lbs. shredded cabbage
2 onions, chopped fine
2 shredded carrots (opt.)
1 c. cooking oil
2 tbsp. salt
2 c. sugar (may use sugar substitute)
1 1/2 c. vinegar
2 tsp. celery seed

Mix cabbage and onion and let stand 1 hour. Mix together oil, salt, sugar, vinegar and celery seed. Bring to boil. Then pour over cabbage, onion and carrot mixture. Store in covered container. Will keep 6 to 8 weeks.
