MOMA HATTIE'S CALIFORNIA PORK
CHOPS
 
6 med. pork chops, washed
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. flour
1 c. cooking oil
1/4 c. brown sugar
2 lemons
1/3 c. catsup (may substitute chili sauce)
1/4 c. water

Season pork chops with salt and pepper, coat with flour. Brown on both sides in cooking oil. Drain chops, and place in baking dish. Sprinkle chops with half of brown sugar. Squeeze juice from lemons on top of each chop. Slice lemons in thin slices and place on top of each chop. Sprinkle remainder of the sugar on top of lemon slices, top with catsup. Pour water along the sides of baking dish. Bake covered for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Bake uncovered for 15 more minutes.

Thank you for sharing this recipe. It is old time and one of the best. I know someone that used to prepare this way but did not know exact amounts - or how it was prepped for sure. Will be on next weeks list for sure.
