HAMBURGER PIE 
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. onion, chopped
1 (16 oz.) can green beans, drained
1/4 c. water
1 can condensed tomato soup
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
3 med. potatoes, peeled & quartered
1 egg, beaten
Milk
1/2 c. American cheese, shredded

Brown ground meat with onions, drain fat. Stir in green beans, soup, water, salt and pepper. Place mixture in 1 1/2 quart casserole. In saucepan cook potatoes until tender. Mash while hot, blend in egg. Add milk to make potatoes fluffy. Drop potatoes in mounds atop meat mixture. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
