"SAVORY MEAT SAUCE" 
Wonderful over spaghetti. Freezes well as I double recipe. Put in quart freezer jars and freeze. Defrost in microwave and a quick last minute company dinner is almost ready.

1 lg. onion, chopped (1 c.)
2 cloves garlic, minced or 1/4 tsp. powdered garlic
2 lbs. hamburger
8 c. (4 cans, 1 lb. each) tomatoes
2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste (not sauce)
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. celery, chopped
1/4 c. parsley, chopped (use the dried)
1 1/2 tbsp. salt
2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. basil
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 bay leaves
1/2 tsp. oregano

Saute onion and cloves of garlic together. Add 2 pounds hamburger and brown. Add next ingredients: tomatoes, tomato paste, water, celery, parsley, salt, sugar, basil, pepper, bay leaves and oregano. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until fairly thick.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
