CHEESE BISCUITS | |
1/2 lb. butter 1/2 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese, grated 2 c. flour Pinch of salt Cayenne pepper to taste Pecan halves Grate cheese and blend with butter. Add flour, pepper and salt. Knead until smooth. Place in refrigerator for 1 1/2 hours. Divide dough into 4 parts. Roll in long pieces, 6-8 inches about the size of 25 cent piece. Roll in wax paper. Lay on a small baking sheet. Refrigerate overnight. Cut dough in thin slices. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Place pecan half on each slice of dough. Bake until firm and lightly brown, about 10 minutes. Check often. Cookies burn easily. Cool on wire rack or soft cloth. |
