OATMEAL CARAMELITAS | |
1 c. all purpose flour 1 c. quick cooking rolled oats 3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar 1/2 tsp. baking soda 3/4 c. butter, melted 1 c. (6 oz.) semisweet chocolate chips 1/2 c. chopped walnuts 3/4 c. caramel ice cream topping 3 tbsp. flour In large mixing bowl, combine flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, soda and melted butter. Blend well at low speed to form crumbs. Press half of mixture into bottom of 11 x 7 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Remove from oven; sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts. Blend caramel with 3 tablespoons flour; pour caramel mixture over chips and nuts to cover. Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture on top. Continue baking for 15 to 20 minutes until brown. Chill 1 hour before cutting into bars. |
