MOUNT RAINIER APPLE CAKE | |
4 tbsp. butter 1 c. sugar 1 egg, beaten 3 apples (Golden Delicious, preferred), peeled and chopped 1 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon 1/4 tsp. ground cloves 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 c. chopped walnuts FROSTING: 2 tbsp. softened butter 1 c. powdered sugar 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract 1-2 tbsp. apple juice Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and beat well. Add remaining cake ingredients and mix until blended. Pour batter into a greased and floured 8 inch square pan and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. In small bowl add frosting ingredients and spread smoothly over cake. |
