CHRISTMAS COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
4 eggs
3 c. all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. each allspice, cloves, cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. bourbon
1 lb. chopped candied pineapple
1 lb. chopped red cherries
2 quarts pecans

Dust nuts and fruit with 1/2 cup flour. Cream butter and sugar; add eggs, one at a time. Sift flour and spices together and add alternately with bourbon to batter. Pour over the mixture of fruit and nuts. Drop with teaspoon on baking sheet and bake at 300 degrees for about 20 minutes. These will store and keep like fruit cake a long time. I freeze some.
