CHERRY BARS 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
4 eggs
2 c. flour
1 tbsp. almond extract or lemon extract
1 can cherry pie filling

Gradually add sugar to butter and beat until creamy. Add eggs - beat well after each. At low speed, add flour and extract. Pour batter into well greased 15 x 10 inch pan. Mark off into squares and place heaping teaspoons of pie filling on each square. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes. Sift powdered sugar over each square while still warm.
