ITALIAN SPAGHETTI & MEATBALLS 
2 med. onions, chopped
2 green peppers, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1/2 c. pure olive oil
1 med. can Italian tomatoes
1 can tomato paste
1 can sliced mushrooms, drained
5 whole cloves
2 lbs. ground round
1/2 c. mayonnaise
Few sprigs fresh parsley, chopped
2 bay leaves
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. salt

Saute onions, peppers and garlic in the oil. Add tomato paste, tomatoes and 1 can of water. Add bay leaves, cloves, sugar, salt and cayenne pepper. Cook 1 hour on simmer. In the meantime, mix meat with mayonnaise and parsley. Roll into balls and brown lightly. Drain. Add to mixture and simmer 1 1/2 hours longer. Add mushrooms last few minutes. Remove bay leaves and cloves. Serve with thin spaghetti and Italian grated cheese. Ripe olives and pickles on the side.
