ORANGE SLICE CAKE 
3 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 lb. sliced orange slice candy
8 oz. pkg. pitted dates, chopped
2 c. nuts, chopped
1 can flaked coconut
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. buttermilk

Sift flour and salt together. Combine fruit with 1/2 cup flour mixture. Cream butter and sugar until light. Add eggs, 1 at a time. Beat well after each addition. Combine soda and buttermilk. Add to combined mixture with remaining flour mixture. Blend well after each addition. Stir in candy; mix well.

Bake in a greased and floured tube pan at 300°F for 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Glaze:

1 c. orange juice
2 c. powdered sugar

Combine orange juice and powdered sugar. Mix well. Pour over hot cake while still in pan. Let stand overnight in refrigerator. Remove from pan. Keep wrapped when not in use.
