ORANGE SLICE CAKE 
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1/2 c. milk
3 c. flour (self-rising)
1 (8 oz.) pkg. chopped dates
1/2 lb. or more orange slice candy, chopped
2 c. Angel Flake coconut
2 c. chopped pecans
1 c. fresh orange juice
2 c. confectioners sugar

(Coat candy and dates in a little flour before adding to cake mixture to keep from sticking together.)

Cream together with mixer the butter, sugar, eggs and milk. Add flour 1 cup at a time to the creamed mixture. Add dates, candy, coconut and pecans. Mix well.

Bake at 275°F in a tube pan for about 2 hours.

When cake is done, mix 1 cup fresh orange juice and 2 cups confectioners sugar together. Pour over warm cake. Let sit in pan overnight or for several hours.
