ORANGE CANDY SLICE CAKE 
1 lb. orange slice candy, diced
2 c. chopped pecans
1 1/2 c. coconut
8 oz. pitted dates, chopped
4 eggs
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 sticks butter, melted
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla

Pour melted butter over fruit and nuts. Beat eggs and sugar. Add flour and soda (which have been sifted together), alternating with buttermilk. Fold in fruit and nuts. Grease and flour tube pan and add cake mixture.

Bake at 300°F for 2 hours. Cool on rack.
