CROCK-POT ROAST | |
1 tbsp. oil 3 lb. roast (sirloin tip works well) 1/4 c. soy sauce 1 c. coffee (regular or decaf) 2 bay leaves, crumbled 1 garlic clove, minced 1/2 tsp. dried oregano 2 onions, sliced additional coffee or soy sauce (as desired) additional onion, sliced black pepper Sear roast on all sides in 1 tablespoon hot oil. Combine all the other ingredients in a crock-pot. Transfer roast to crock-pot and slice another onion on top. Sprinkle with black pepper. Cook all day. This roast slices well hot or cold and the pan juices (strain out the onions) make a great dipping sauce with hard rolls as a French dip sandwich. This is an old Amish recipe and smells absolutely wonderful as it cooks. |
