SPICY WINE CROCK POT ROAST | |
3-4 lb. beef pot roast 1 onion, chopped 1 pkg. brown gravy mix 1 c. water 1/4 c. catsup 1/4 c. dry red or white wine 2 tsp. mustard 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 1/8 tsp. garlic powder Salt & pepper Salt and pepper roast. Place in crock pot. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over meat. Cover and cook on low 8 to 10 hours. Remove meat and slice. If desired, thicken sauce with flour dissolved in small amount of water and serve over the meat. |

First I seasoned with sea salt and cracked pepper then browned well on all sides before placing in bag.
We prefer robust flavors so I increased some of the ingredients (Worcestershire, red wine; substituted minced garlic, Dijon mustard, dried minced onion and large cracked pepper on top of meat after placing in bag.)
Poured sauce over meat into the bag.
Wonderfully fork tender and amazing gravy.
Definitely a repeat.
