OATMEAL CHOCOLATE CHIP CAKE 
1 3/4 c. boiling water
1 c. quick oats
1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. cocoa
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
3/4 c. chopped nuts

Grease and flour 13"x9" pan. Sift together flour, salt, soda and cocoa; set aside. Pour boiling water over oats and let stand 10 minutes. Add butter and sugars, stirring until butter melts. Add eggs and beat well. Add dry, sifted ingredients. Then stir in 1/2 the chocolate chips and nuts. Pour into pan and sprinkle on remaining chips and nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
