APPLE CRUSTY PUDDING 
5 c. apples, sliced
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. hot water - set aside

Mix apples with 3/4 cup sugar and cinnamon. Put in 9 x 9 inch cake pan. Dot with butter and hot water. Cover pan with foil. Simmer on top of stove on low heat while making Crust Top.

CRUST TOP:

1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 egg, beaten with fork

Mix dry ingredients, cut in butter. Add beaten egg. Mix with fingers and drop on hot apples (that have been removed from stove top). Spread gently with back of tablespoon. Bake in 350 degree oven for 40 minutes. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
