CHOCOLATE CARAMEL NUT CAKE 
1 pkg. German Chocolate Cake mix with pudding
14 oz. bag caramels
1/3 c. milk
3/4 milk chocolate chips
1/2 c. butter
1 c. chopped dry roasted peanuts

Prepare cake mix according to package. Spoon half of batter into a greased 9 x 13 x 2 pan. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes. Cake will not test done. Cool cake 10 minutes. Combine caramels, butter, milk in sauce pan cook over low heat, stirring constantly until caramels melt. Spread over the top. Spread remaining cake batter evenly over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Yields: 15 to 18 servings. A white cake mix may be used.
