MOCK ANGEL FOOD CAKE 
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. almond flavoring
6 egg whites
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. lukewarm water

Sift flour, sugar and salt together 6 times. Add 1 cup lukewarm water to the above. Beat until well blended. Add vanilla and almond flavoring.

Beat egg whites, cream of tartar and baking powder until stands in peaks. Add egg whites to the first mixture by folding in gently. Bake in layers or long oblong 9x13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees around 30 minutes. (This recipe comes from the Holmes family.)
