EASY "MOCK" ANGEL CAKE | |
2 c. flour 1 1/2 c. sugar 3 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1 c. skim milk, hot 1 tsp. vanilla 1/4 tsp. almond flavoring 7 to 8 lg. egg whites 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan with foil; grease and lightly flour bottom. Sift dry ingredients into large bowl. Add hot skim milk and flavorings. Beat 2 minutes. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites with cream of tartar just until stiff. Fold stiff egg whites into flour batter; do not fold in completely. Pour into prepared pan. Bake 30 to 35 minutes at 350 degrees and let cool in pan. Cake does not need icing, but may be iced if one wishes. NOTE: This is a non- fat cake. |
