PINE KNOB CRUMB CAKE 
2 c. light brown sugar
3/4 c. shortening
2 1/2 c. all purpose flour
1 egg
1 c. buttermilk
1 (6 oz.) chocolate morsels
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Blend light brown sugar, shortening and flour together and save out 1/2 cup to sprinkle on top of cake. Add egg, buttermilk, morsels, soda, salt and vanilla all together; put in oblong cake pan. Sprinkle the 1/2 cup of crumbs on top. Bake 40 minutes or until golden brown at 350 degrees. May garnish with Cool Whip.
