CHOCOLATE CARAMEL CAKE 
1 box German chocolate cake mix
14 oz. pkg. vanilla caramels
1/2 c. butter
1/3 c. milk
12 oz. pkg. chocolate chips
1 c. chopped pecans

Mix cake according to directions on box. Pour half of batter into a greased and sugared pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

While this bakes, melt caramels, butter and milk over medium heat. Remove cake from oven. Pour caramel mixture over cake. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and pecans and pour remaining cake batter over this. Bake at 250 degrees for 20 minutes, then bake at 350 degrees for 10 more minutes.
