1 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 c. raisins
1 c. shortening
2 c. flour
2 c. oatmeal
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. nuts
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Boil sugar, water, raisins, shortening and spices for 10 minutes. Cool. Add the rest of the ingredients and drop by teaspoons onto cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees until brown.
