ICEBOX COOKIES 
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 c. nuts
4 c. flour

Cream sugar, butter, and eggs. Sift dry ingredients. Mix both mixtures then add vanilla and nuts.

Shape in a roll, two rolls are easier to store in refrigerator. Cool for an hour or more, then slice thin and bake at 350 degrees until edges are brown (about 10 minutes).
