HAMBURGER 'N' CHEESE CASSEROLE 
16 oz. med. uncooked noodles
2 lbs. ground beef
2 cans tomato sauce
1 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
2 c. cream style cottage cheese
2 pkgs. cream cheese, softened
1 c. dairy sour cream
2 bunches scallions with tops, diced
1 med. green pepper, chopped
1/2 c. Parmesan cheese, shredded

Preheat oven to 375 degrees (190 degrees Centigrade). Saute beef in large heavy skillet, breaking into small chunks with fork, until brown. Stir in tomato sauce, sugar, salt, garlic powder and pepper. Remove from heat. Combine in a large bowl: cottage cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, scallions, and green pepper. Divide half the noodles evenly between two 13 x 9 x 2 inch (33 x 23 x 5 cm.) baking pans. Spread noodles in bottom of each pan. Moisten noodles with some of the meat sauce. Cover noodles with cheese mixture, using all of mixture between 2 pans. Top cheese mixture with remaining noodles. Cover noodles with meat sauce. Sprinkle top of each pan with Parmesan. Bake, covered, for 45 minutes.
