AUNT'S PASTIES 
1 3/4 lb. ground beef
1 sm. onion, chopped
4 med. potatoes, diced
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 can water

Brown meat and onion; add potatoes, soup, and water. Simmer until potatoes are tender. Refrigerate until cold.

PASTRY:

4 c. flour
2 tsp. salt
1 1/3 c. shortening
12 tbsp. cold water

Cut shortening into flour and salt, add water. Form into 8 balls. Roll out pastry to the size of a salad plate. Fill each with part of the meat mixture, fold over and crimp edges together. Bake on cookie sheet at 400 degrees about 20 minutes.

Makes 8-10 pasties.
