1 lb. lean ground beef, pork, lamb or turkey 1 c. chopped onion 1 tbsp. prepared mustard 2-3 tsp. chili powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce 1 (8 oz.) can tomato juice 1/2 c. shredded carrot In 10" skillet, cook meat and onion until meat is brown and onion is tender. Drain off any excess fat. Stir in mustard, chili powder and salt. Cook and stir for one minute. Add tomato sauce, tomato juice, shredded carrot, bring mixture to boiling, reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve mixture on toasted buns, sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese. |
