APPLE CRUNCH 
5 c. peeled, sliced apples
1/4 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. granulated sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. chopped almonds
Grated orange peel

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Butter a shallow 2 quart baking dish. Place apples in prepared baking dish. Fit the steel knife blade into the food processor work bowl. Combine brown sugar, flour, granulated sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and butter in the work bowl. Process until crumbly and mixed well. Add almonds. Mix with 2 or 3 quick on/off turns. Sprinkle mixture evenly over apples. Bake 45 minutes or until top is golden brown. Prepare Whipped Cream Cheese Topping below. Garnish with grated orange peel. Makes 8 servings.

WHIPPED CREAM CHEESE TOPPING:

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, cut in 1" cubes
1 tbsp. powdered sugar
2 tsp. grated orange peel
2 tbsp. orange juice

Fit the steel knife blade into the work bowl. Process all ingredients together until mixture is light and fluffy, 10 to 15 seconds. (An electric mixer may be used but be sure to let the cream cheese soften before mixing.)
