HOT ROLLS 
2 c. warm water
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 cakes compressed yeast
1 egg & 1 egg yolk
2/3 c. Crisco
6 1/2 - 7 c. flour

To 2 cups of warm water, add sugar and salt. Let dissolve. Add yeast in crumbly form. Let mix thoroughly. Add egg and egg yolk that has been beaten lightly. Add Crisco. It will not mix completely. Begin adding flour a cup at a time until dough is satiny smooth. Let rise for 1 1/2 to 2 hours in warm room. Punch down. Roll out and cut for crescents. Let rise again for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Serve warm with real butter.
