MAKE AHEAD CHEESE POTATOES | |
8 lg. potatoes, boiled in the jackets & refrigerated overnight 1 lb. grated Cheddar cheese 1 stick real butter 1 bunch green onions, chopped 1/2 tsp. white pepper 1 tsp. salt 2 c. sour cream Boil potatoes and refrigerate overnight. Peel and grate cold potatoes. In large saucepan or large kettle melt butter; saute onions. Slowly add grated cheese and stir as it melts. Add sour cream, stirring continuously over low heat. Add salt and pepper. Mix cold grated potatoes into sauce mixture. Spread in greased 8 1/2 x 10 inch baking dish. Dot top with additional butter. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated before baking and serving. |
