NO WEEP MERINGUE | |
2 tbsp. sugar 1 tbsp. cornstarch 1/2 c. water 3 egg whites 6 tbsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. vanilla Mix 2 tablespoons sugar, cornstarch and water. Cook together stirring until it boils and is clear. Set aside. Beat egg whites with salt with mixer until peaks stand and egg whites are stiff. Add the cornstarch mixture. Continue beating until creamy then gradually add 6 tablespoons sugar and vanilla. Meringue should now stand in stiff peaks. Pile on pie making sure to seal edges of pie very carefully. Bake at 325 degrees until golden brown. |
