SWEET AND SOUR MEATBALLS 
1 lb. ground beef
1 egg, beaten slightly
1 tsp. salt
Dash pepper
2 tbsp. shortening
1 med. pepper, cut in strips
1 med. onion, sliced
1 1/2 c. pineapple juice
1/4 c. Heinz 57 sauce
Hot buttered rice or Chinese noodles

Lightly combine first 4 ingredients, form into meatballs. Brown meatballs in shortening. Add green pepper and onion. Saute until vegetables are tender. Stir in pineapple juice and 57 sauce. Cover, simmer 15-20 minutes until meatballs cooked. Thicken sauce with cornstarch/water mixture. Serve over buttered rice. Makes 4 servings.
