BLUEBERRY UPSIDE DOWN CAKE 
2 c. blueberries
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. shortening
1 egg
1 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk

Put berries in a 1 1/2 quart buttered dish or pan; sprinkle 1/4 cup sugar on. Cream shortening, 1/2 cup sugar, and egg together. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to creamed mixture, alternately with milk. Bake 45 minutes at 375 degrees.
