LAYERED PEA SALAD | |
1 lg. (or 2 med.) onions, peeled & diced 1 med. head of Iceburg lettuce 3/4 c. mayonnaise 2 tsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. black pepper 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen green peas, barely cooked 1 c. diced Swiss cheese 3 sliced crisp bacon Separate onions in rings. Place 1/2 lettuce in salad bowl. Spoon half mayonnaise over lettuce. Add layer of onions. Sprinkle with sugar, salt and pepper. Top with half of pea and cheese. Repeat layers. Cool for 1 to 2 hours. Garnish with bacon and onion rings. |
