BREAD MACHINE SWEET DOUGH | |
For a 2-lb capacity bread machine such as Zojirushi. 1 1/8 cups milk (270ml) 1 egg, beaten (50g) 4 1/4 cups bread flour (544g) 4 tbsp. sugar (46g) 2 tsp. salt (11.2g) 2 1/2 tbsp. butter (35g) 1 tsp. dried orange peel 2 1/2 tsp. (7g) active-dry yeast Add ingredients to bread machine pan in order given or as recommended by your bread machine manufacturer. Choose a basic dough setting. While the dough is kneading, check midway through the cycle for proper consistency - dough should not be crumbly. Add a tablespoon of water at a time if needed. If dough looks sticky, add a tablespoon of flour. When dough is done, remove from pan and form rolls or roll out into rectangles or crescent shapes and bake according to most any recipe calling for sweet dough. To make cinnamon bread, roll into a rectangle, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Roll up tightly into a log shape and place in a greased loaf pan. Allow to rise until doubled in a warm place. Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for about 40 minutes, or until loaf sounds hollow when tapped on bottom and top is nicely browned. Remove from pan and allow to cool on a wire rack. Brush top with butter while still warm. Leave to cool completely before slicing. |
