TRIFLE DESSERT 
Sponge or angel food cake
Strawberry jam
1 pkg. vanilla or banana instant pudding
1 can fruit cocktail
1 pkg. cherry or strawberry Jello
8 oz. Cool Whip
Nuts, optional
Sherry

In a glass bowl (punch bowl works well). Break up cake in small chunks bottom of bowl. Pour jam over this cake. Pour a slosh of sherry over this. Make pudding according to box directions. Layer over jam and cake.

Make Jello with fruit cocktail in it. Layer over pudding. Cool Whip on top. Nuts over this if you wish. I make 2 complete layers. Looks well in punch bowl.
