ENGLISH MUFFIN BREAD | |
2 pkgs. yeast 6 c. unsifted flour 1 c. water 1 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt 2 c. milk 1/4 tsp. baking soda Cornmeal Combine 3 cups flour, yeast, sugar, salt and soda. Heat liquids until very warm. Add to dry mixture, beat well. Stir in rest of flour to make stiff batter. Spoon into 8 1/2" x 1 1/2" greased pans, sprinkled with cornmeal. Sprinkle tops with cornmeal. Cover. Let rise 45 minutes. Bake 400 degrees for 25 minutes. Remove from pans immediately. |
