2 c. sugar
1/2 c. milk
1 stick butter
1/2 c. cocoa

Combine all these and cook in a saucepan until it boils. Boil about 1 minute. Take off heat and add the following to this mixture.

1 tsp. vanilla
Dash of salt (optional)
2 c. nuts
3 c. quick oats (oatmeal)

Drop by teaspoonful on wax paper. Let cool.
