FRENCH BREAD TOAST 
6 eggs
1 1/2 c. milk
3 tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3/8 tsp. nutmeg
1 loaf French bread, cut into 3/4" slices
1/2 c. butter, melted

Beat eggs. Stir in milk. Add sugar, vanilla and nutmeg. Stir well. Place bread slices on rimmed baking sheet. Pour mixture over the bread. Let stand a few minutes, then turn over. When entire mixture has been absorbed, freeze in pan.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Take pan from freezer and release frozen slices by dipping bottom of baking sheet into hot water. Brush butter on both sides of bread and place on clean cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes on one side. Turn over and bake 10 minutes longer. Serve immediately with maple syrup.
