CHOCOLATE MINT SQUARES | |
CAKE LAYER: 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. butter 1 tsp. vanilla 1 (16 oz.) can chocolate syrup 4 eggs 1 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt Cream butter with the sugar. Add 1 egg at a time. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour onto greased and floured 9x13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes; cool well. MINT LAYER: 2 c. confectioners sugar 1/2 c. butter 2-4 tbsp. creme de menthe or 1 tsp. peppermint extract Cream butter and sugar, then add creme de menthe or mint flavoring; mix well. Spread over cooled cake. Refrigerate while making glaze. GLAZE: 6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate bits 6 tbsp. butter Melt chocolate bits and butter on stove or in microwave. Mix well. Spread over mint layer. Chill. Cut into squares. |
