BEEF STROGANOFF | |
1 1/2 lbs. steak, cut in thin 1/2 inch strips 1/4 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 2 sm. onions, sliced 1/2 lb. mushrooms, sliced 1 clove garlic, chopped 3 tbsp. fat 2 tbsp. flour 1 c. canned bouillon 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 c. sour cream (or plain yogurt) Roll meat in 1/4 cup flour mixed with salt. Pan fry onions, mushrooms and garlic in fat for 5 minutes. Add meat and brown evenly. Remove meat, etc. Combine 2 tablespoons flour with pan drippings. Add bouillon and Worcestershire sauce. Cook until thickened. Add sour cream (or yogurt) carefully and heat SLOWLY until gravy simmers. Add back meat, etc. and heat a few minutes. Serve on rice, noodles or toast. |
