REFRIGERATOR CRESCENT BUTTER ROLLS | |
2 pkgs. dry yeast 2 Tbsps. lukewarm water 2 cups warm milk 1/2 c. sugar 1 egg 1 tsp. salt 6 cups unbleached flour 3/4 cup melted butter Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. Combine milk, sugar, eggs, salt and 3 cups of flour. Beat until smooth. Add melted butter and remaining 3 cups of flour. Mix well, but don't knead. Cover and refrigerate overnight. About 3 hours before needed, divide on floured surface, into 4 parts. Roll each piece into 10 to 11 inch rounds. Butter top of each round. Cut into fourths, then cut into thirds, pie shaped. Roll up each piece toward center. Place end down, on greased pan. Do not crowd. Let rise until double. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-18 minutes. Watch. May be slightly under baked, frozen, thawed and heated at 350 degrees for 3-4 minutes. |
