COFFEE CAKE 
2 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 tsp. salt

Combine the above and stir over medium heat in a saucepan until butter is melted. Set aside to cool.

Dissolve 2 packages yeast in 1/2 cup warm water. Beat 4 eggs and add to yeast. Blend with milk, sugar, butter and salt mixture.

In a large bowl combine 7 cups of flour and mixture. Mix well and allow to rise in a warm place for 2 hours.

Drop dough onto floured surface, knead a little and let dough set 10 minutes. Cut dough into 4 pieces. Roll out dough on a floured surface, 1 piece at a time. Melt 1/2 stick of butter for each piece of dough and spread over dough. Sprinkle brown sugar over entire dough. Sprinkle cinnamon and nuts. Roll the dough like a jelly roll. Fold roll in half. Place on greased cookie sheet. Make 3 cuts on top. Spread out like a fan. Let rise 1 hour. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes.

ICING:

1 lb. powdered sugar
1 tbsp. vanilla
1/4 c. milk
1/2 stick butter

Mix and drip over the coffee cakes. Makes 4 cakes.

This recipe sounds like a lot of work but it's one of the best coffee cakes.
