PUMPKIN BREAD | |
2/3 c. shortening 2 2/3 c. sugar 4 eggs 1 can (16 oz.) pumpkin 2/3 c. water 3 1/3 c. flour 2 tsp. baking soda 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. cloves (ground) 2/3 c. nuts (pecans) 2/3 c. raisins or chocolate chips Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease (2) bread pans (9 1/4 x 5 1/4 x 2 inch). Mix shortening, sugar, eggs, pumpkin and water. Blend in flour, soda, salt, baking powder, cinnamon and cloves. Stir nuts, raisins or chocolate chips. Pour into prepared pans. Bake (1) hour and (10) minutes or until wooden toothpick comes out clean. This recipe yields (2) loaves of pumpkin bread. |
