HOT BUTTERED PUNCH | |
8 whole cloves 3 pieces crystalized ginger 2 cinnamon sticks 8 whole allspice 1 1/2 c. water 1 1/2 c. sugar 1 qt. orange juice 3 c. apple cider 1/2 c. lemon juice 2 tbsp. butter, cut in sm. pieces Tie spices in a cheesecloth bag and boil, uncovered, for 10 minutes in the water. Remove from heat and remove the spices. Add sugar to the hot spiced water and stir until dissolved. Add orange juice, lemon juice, and cider; reheat. Just before serving, melt butter on top of the hot punch. Serves 10- 12. Real good at Christmas time. |
