LIL'S SWEET GARLIC DILLS

1 clove garlic
1 sm. pickling onion
1/8 tsp. alum
1 sprig dill
Sm. cucumbers

Fill hot jars with above ingredients. Keep jars warm in water bath. Pour boiling brine over pickles and seal.

BRINE:

2 1/2 c. sugar
2 c. water
1 qt. vinegar
1/2 c. kosher salt

Makes 12 pints.
