1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. raisins
1 c. nuts
1 c. applesauce

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients together. Bake in a greased and floured 9"x13" pan until brown and toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.

FROSTING:

1 stick butter
1 c. Pet milk
1 c. sugar

Cook and boil 5 minutes. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1 cup coconut (optional). Pour over cake while hot.
