FILLING: 3 eggs 3 tsp. vanilla 6 tbsp. flour 3 tbsp. 10x sugar 6 tbsp. milk 1 c. butter 1 1/4 c. Crisco shortening Beat all filling ingredients well, then add 4 1/2 cups 10x sugar. Beat until creamy. COOKIE: 2 c. sugar 1/2 c. Crisco shortening 1/2 c. butter 2 eggs, plus 2 egg yolks 4 c. flour 1 c. cocoa 1/2 tsp. salt 2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. baking powder 1 c. sour milk 1 c. hot water Cream together sugar, shortenings and eggs, then add dry ingredients alternately with liquids (sour milk can be made by adding one tbsp. vinegar to milk). Drop cookies by tablespoons on greased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Cool before filling. |
