HEARTY VEGETABLE SOUP 
2 lb. lean stewing beef, cut into 1 inch cubes
2 lg. potatoes, diced
2 onions, chopped
3 carrots, peeled and cut into 1/2 inch pieces
2 stalks celery, sliced (include tops for flavor)
6 to 8 sprigs of parsley
1 bay leaf
1 tbsp. salt
1/2 tsp. thyme
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes chopped with juice
1 can water

Combine above ingredients in slow cooker. Cook on low 10 to 11 hours. Add:

1 can green beans
1 can peas
1 can corn
1 can lima beans
